Jo had always been fond of Hermione. Well, since she'd met her, anyway, and Sam had told her about the girl's parentage, something Hermione didn't even know. Ever since then, Jo had taken a sort of parental role in the girl's life, always watching out for her and spending time with her when she could. She didn't exactly agree with the whole "don't tell Dean" plan, but what was there to do? It wasn't her secret to tell. She wasn't Hermione's family, not by blood anyway, so it wasn't exactly up to her to decide what was best for the girl. In the end, for now, it would have to be Sam's decision. But she'd definitely talk to him about it soon, and try to coerce him into agreeing with her. Sam was like a brother to her, and no amount of lost time would change that fact.
It was late afternoon- classes had already ended for the day. Jo had wandered into the library, knowing that she would find her more or less adopted daughter there. Well, she hadn't adopted her legally, formally, or even casually, but she'd gotten attached to her in her heart, and considered her like a daughter. It wasn't just because of Dean being the father that Jo wanted to be the mother - she truly cared for the girl, and it showed.
Turning the corner into a particular section of the library, a gentle smile washed over her porcelain face. That was one thing she still hadn't gotten used to since coming back- all her hunting scars, everything, were gone, like dirt washed away in a shower. It was odd, coming back like a clean slate. Unsettling, almost, like everything she remembered wasn't real. But it was- she knew that much.
"I thought I might find you here." plopping down next to Hermione, Jo's brown eyes twinkled with kindness, one of her qualities she'd never used. "What's up?"
