- - - personal information
APPEARANCE: [Jo has blonde hair and brown eyes. She stands at about five feet and four inches tall, and has a slender but athletic build. She prefers to wear tank tops or short sleeve shirts, but has lately become fond of wearing a green hunting jacket over any of her tops. Jo is a very casual dresser; she does not usually wear anything fancier than jeans and a tank top. Her hair is wavy and she usually wears it down unless the situation calls for otherwise.]
ABILITIES: [n/a]
STRENGTHS: [marksmanship, hand-to-hand combat, strategy/organization]
WEAKNESSES: [emotional/reckless, blunt, stubborn]
PERSONALITY: [Jo is a kind person whose emotions will often dictate her actions. Though she is very intelligent, she sometimes acts before thinking and will get herself into trouble. She is extremely loyal, especially to those that she cares about. Jo would drop everything, for example, to go help Dean if he was in trouble. This may also be because Jo has had a crush on Dean for years now, but that aside, she's a very loving and loyal girl. She's made the ultimate sacrifice once already, and would undoubtedly make it again if necessary. Over the years, she has matured greatly; though she still tends to make rash decisions from time to time, she also takes greater care of herself and has developed somewhat of a maternal instinct not unlike her mother's. She still has some of her old tomboyish tendencies however, and has started a new knife collection, the only remaining piece of her old one being, of course, her father's pure iron knife.]
- - - family information
FAMILY: [Ellen Harvelle, mother, hunter, living; Bill Harvelle, father, hunter, deceased]
HISTORY: [Jo was born on 7 April 1985. As both her parents were hunters, she grew up among other hunters and would consider many of them family. When she was ten, her father passed away from a hunting trip with John Winchester. After this, Jo decided that she would also become a hunter. She met Gordon Walker when she was twelve, and a few years later, he tricked her into being bait for one of his hunts, though she escaped. Later on, Jo attended college for a short time but it did not work out. She ended up meeting Sam and Dean for the first time via a fight, which was proven to be a misunderstanding and they parted as friends. Jo developed a large crush on Dean, becoming extremely loyal to him even when Sam (when possessed by Meg) told her that Dean would never like her back.
A few years later, Jo died soon after defending Dean from a hellhound. This would have been the end for her, had it not been for Castiel. In retaliation to the growing demon army, Castiel had been instructed to bring back some of the best hunters that had fallen because of demons. Ever since she and her mother returned to the land of the living, Jo has lived in the school that Sam and Dean had created, working there as the marksmanship teacher.]

RP SAMPLE: [(this was from another au site a year or so ago)To be honest, Jo never had liked the cold. But somehow she'd found herself all the way up in Maine, the furthest north state on the eastern coast. Not even southern Maine, either, but northern Maine- almost near Canada. She had been there on kind of a long-term hunting trip, and whilst there, had ended up finding a help wanted sign in a local bar and had gotten hired. If it hadn't been for the damned cold, she'd probably stay there longer. But she already knew that she'd go as soon as she found another good hunting job somewhere else.
Apparently 'haunted mansion' type places were quite common in Maine- she'd already taken care of a ghost a few towns over, and now there seemed to be another disturbance. She did her research in between working hours, and was sure she was close to figuring this one out, too. She was proud of herself- Jo thought of herself as a pretty good hunter, after all. So maybe she wasn't as successful, as, let's say, the Winchesters, or even her own late father, but she was getting there.
It must have been close to ten o'clock at this point- her shift was until midnight, but no one had been coming in for a while and she was the only one there. Maybe she could get away with closing early. She'd get to go to bed earlier than usual and have an early start in the morning with her research- it'd work out well. Smiling at this, Jo began to wipe off the counter top with a cleaning rag, hoping no one else would show up so she could go home for the night. Or at least, to the motel she was staying in currently. Same thing.]
